A Taste of Success Starts with Lemonade!
On Saturday, May 10th, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the streets of Ottumwa and Agency, Iowa will come alive with youth-led lemonade stands as part of Lemonade Day Ottumwa.
This fun, educational event gives 3rd–5th grade students from Ottumwa and Cardinal schools the chance to learn what it takes to start and run a small business. Using the My Lemonade Day app or workbook, each child is guided through the entire process—from setting goals and planning a budget to marketing and customer service.
Make a plan to visit as many stands as you can—you’ll find delicious drinks, creative flavors, and inspiring kids learning what it takes to run a business. Find them on the map!
Through this program, kids gain essential life skills:
- Financial literacy and business planning
- Goal setting and teamwork
- Communication and leadership
- Responsibility and confidence
After paying back any startup loans, kids keep the money they earn and are encouraged to spend some, save some, and share some.
